HOW TO REACH LE STANZE DEL BARBARA:
BY TRAIN:
You can very easily get to Vernazza by train from either La Spezia or Levanto.Both stations have connections with all of Italy and there are trains every 15 minutes that come to Vernazza (during summer).
In Vernazza, there's only one main street. When you arrive at Vernazza's train station, go down the stairs and follow the street southbound, until you arrive by the pharmacy.
Turn left and follow the walk to Corniglia, after 38 steps, in the alley corridor, on the left side, you will find our front door: number 25.
CAR (or MOTORBIKE):
Coming via the highway from the north you take the exit Levanto / Carrodano, if you come from the South or Parma you exit at La Spezia, where you have to follow the road signs towards "Cinque Terre".In both cases, after an hour of winding roads, you get 1.5 km from Vernazza.
PLEASE BE AWARE that in Vernazza, the use of cars is NOT allowed and the visitors must park their vehicles in one of 2 toll parking (20/25 euros each day) about 1,5 km from the town, at the end of the Strada Provinciale.
From there, there is a connection with the village via a free minivan, active approximately from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hotel Albergo Barbara is a cute, quaint hotel on the square overlooking the bay in Vernazza. After a walk up 5 flights, including a spiral staircase that seems to go on forever, you’ll be treated to the nicest host and cleanest accommodations! It’s very small, however it’s better than the pictures could describe, and plenty of AC! We were out for the day and the housekeeper made our room impeccable. They even retrieved a luggage rack and placed my luggage on it without asking. It’s a small, place, but you’ll be glad you stayed.

From the outside it looks old and it has no lift BUT we absolutely loved our stay with a passion. Our room inside was newly revamped, clean and comfy. The bathroom was very clean and new. From our room we had an awesome view of the gorgeous boats in the harbour. The village square was so available to us. Ten places to eat/drink within 150 mtrs. The train station is a very short walk away. We swam most days in the clear Mediterranean Sea, about 100 mtrs from our door. I will be heartily recommending this place to my friends.

We had a great stay! The team was super nice, the room neat and clean and the view amazing. It’s located right by the sea and all the great restaurants are right infront of the door. We can definately recommend it and will come back soon.

I would come back. Excellent location and lovely people. I specifically mention Alex who was very helpful. The hotel is basic but for vernazza excellent given the nature of the town. The views of the room is breathtaki g especially sunset and sunrise.. close to all attractions and to the station. Loved it..

Our family couldn't have asked for a better stay in Vernazza. Alessandro was so welcoming and helpful! The view from the ocean facing rooms was breathtaking. The square the hotel sits above quiets down in the evening, and is very quiet in the morning. It allows for easy access to the train station and hiking trails. We will absolutely stay here again in the future!
